Questions to be addressed February 6 regarding the current HIPAA medical data code sets:
- Are the current processes and schedules for updating the HIPAA medical data code sets working well?
- Are the medical data code set distribution mechanisms, formats, and prices acceptable?
- Is progress being made toward elimination of reliance on local codes?
- Other comments related to current HIPAA medical data code sets?
Discussion of the gaps in coverage of the current HIPAA medical data code sets will be held in April or May of 2002. Hearings on the potential replacement of ICD-9-CM vol. 3 (procedures) with ICD10-PCS are scheduled for April 9, 2002. Hearings on the potential replacement of ICD-9-CM vol. 1-2 (diagnosis) with ICD10-CM are scheduled for May 29, 2002.
