ACTIONS

  • Further investigation within the industry is recommended before recommendations are given to the secretary about changes and updates to the HIPAA standards, particularly relative to a newer version of the 835.

 

  • Send a letter from the Subcommittee to the full Committee by Wednesday, December 14, 2005 that recognizes improvements made by the industry (working through the NCPDP) to the SCRIPT 5.0 standard originally recommended by the Subcommittee for adoption as a foundation standard.  The letter recommends that the newer improved version, SCRIPT 8.1, be adopted as quickly as possible.

 

  • Notify full Committee of December 19, 2005 conference call to review proposed letter.
