ACTIONS

  • Judith Warren will work on and distribute a new draft letter on matching records to patients within two weeks that includes testimony heard through the NHIN on July 27, 2006. The letter will be reviewed by Mr. Blair, Mr. Reynolds, Simon Cohn, M.D., and Mr. Jim Scanlon.
  • Discussion of the CHI letter and of the above draft letter on matching records to patients will be integrated into an already scheduled August 2006 conference call with the full Committee to ensure coordination of output by various subcommittees.

The next Subcommittee on Standards and Security meeting will take place on October 11-12, 2006. Topics include further discussion about Consolidated Health Informatics Initiative (CHI), National Provider Identifier implementation (NPI), and an update from the e-prescribing pilots. At this meeting, Mr. Reynolds would like a roadmap developed that will propel the Subcommittee on Standards and Security forward.
