Christopher I. Macintosh, PhD, RN is currently the director of the Nursing Informatics Master’s Specialty Track at the University of Utah College of Nursing. He teaches various courses in the program, including the Standards in Biomedical Informatics course that covers the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) terminology and the Clinical Decision Support course that also references standards like ICD. In these roles, he works closely with other faculty in Nursing Informatics and in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah. He concurrently works with the Health Information Technology Safety Team at Intermountain Healthcare, investigating health information technology involvement in adverse patient safety events. Prior to accepting his current positions, he worked on and was Interim Lead of the Terminology and Modeling team at Intermountain Health.
